Italian Poker Tour - Season 5

The PokerStars Italian Poker Tour is back for Season 5. Italy’s biggest and best series of live poker tournaments returns with visits to new locations, and IPT San Marino starts the tour in style, June 13-17. Each event will see the world’s greatest poker players take their seats to battle it out for huge sums of cash at Italy’s hottest poker destinations, including Sanremo and across the border to Nova Gorica in Slovenia. This is the live tournament series that keeps going from strength to strength, and you can be a part of it now.

Season 4 Highlights

Grand Final - Sanremo 2

Grand Final - Sanremo 2 | 428 Players | EUR830,230 Prize Pool | 1st Nicola Sasso (EUR€185,000)

PokerStars qualifier Nicola Sasso beat a big field of 428 players in Sanremo, where the Italian Poker Tour generated an €830,320 prize pool for its final event of Season 4. Sasso scooped €185,000 for the win when he beat heads up opponent David Peters, who took second place for €155,000. The final action saw Sasso shove all-in with A-T which held against Peters’ A-2.

Saint Vincent

Saint Vincent | 358 Players | €694,520 Prize Pool | 1st Luca Moschitta (€180,000)

Saint Vincent in the Italian Alps played host to the Italian Poker Tour for the first time, as a strong field of 358 players contested the Main Event. That meant a large prize pool of close to €700,000 was generated and the big winner was Luca Moschitta, who secured the title, trophy and €180,000 in cash. It was the PokerStars Team Online player’s seventh IPT cash, and he beat Gianbattista Sacchella heads-up.

Campione 3 | 385 Players | CHF 892,546 Prize Pool | 1st Antonino Venneri (CHF 200,000)

A big field of 385 players assembled in Campione for the latest visit of the Italian Poker Tour, creating a total prize pool of CHF 892,546. PokerStars qualifier Andrea Montini finished top of the pile, pocketing a cool CHF 200,000 in first place prize money. He beat PokerStars.it Supernova Elite Vito Planeta in the heads-up finale when his A-Q flopped an Ace against Planeta’s J-8 suited.

Nova Gorica

Nova Gorica | 298 Players | €578,120 Prize Pool | 1st Riccardo D'Antoni (€155,000)

A field of almost 300 players gathered in Nova Gorica, Slovenia, for the fourth event of Italian Poker Tour Season 4. The 298 players combined to produce a €578,120 prize pool, and it was Riccardo D’Antoni who took the biggest share, securing €155,000 for his Main Event victory. Team PokerStars Pro Salvatore Bonavena fell just short of his second IPT title, finishing in runner-up spot for €95,000 when his A-K lost out to D’Antoni’s A-T.

Campione 2 | 282 Players | CHF671,160 Prize Pool | 1st Manlio Iemina (CHFCHF 154,000)

One of Italy's best poker players, Manlio Iemina won Season 4's second visit to Campione after he beat fellow Italian Stefano Terziani in the heads-up finale. Iemina took home CHF154,000 after making a deal which saw Terziani claim an improved CHF126,000 payout for second place. Iemina adds this title to a growing list of results that include EPT cashes and a runner-up finish at IPT Nova Gorica in 2010.

Sanremo

Sanremo | 375 Players | €727,500 Prize Pool | 1st Alessandro Meoni (€€166,000)

Supernova Elite Alessandro Meoni was crowned IPT champion in Sanremo, after he played through a field of 375 players. The first place prize money amounted to €166,000 from a total prize pool of €727,500. He beat Raffaele Bertolucci in the heads-up finale when his A-K flopped a K to beat Bertolucci's T-9. Bertolucci, who bought into the event with Frequent Player Points, took home €129,000 for second place.

Campione 1

Campione 1 | 224 Players | CHF517,127 Prize Pool | 1st Antonino Venneri (CHFCHF 130,000)

The stunning location of Campione d'Italia on the shores of Lake Lugano played host to the opening event of Season 4 of the IPT and 224 players turned up to do battle. The first Main Event winner of the new season was Antonino Venneri, who collected CHF 130,000 in first place prize money, after a deal was made at the final table. Fellow Italian Ivan Losi finished in runner-up spot, taking home CHF 100,000 in cash.
