Live Poker Tournaments - FAQ

This FAQ answers questions you might have about playing satellites to live ("brick and mortar") tournaments. Please note that we have specific web pages (and sometimes T&Cs and FAQs) for some live events, including the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, (PCA) and the European Poker Tour (EPT). In cases where there are Terms & Conditions and/or FAQs for a specific live event differ from these policies, the specific event policies will supersede the general policies listed here.

The best place to find our current offerings is to visit the PokerStars game client lobby and click on the Events tab. You can also find links in the left navigation bar on this page to various live events pages, which include events schedules.

Many of our players want an opportunity to win a seat into a major live tournament. We are happy to provide satellites to many of those tournaments. In exchange, if you win a seat, you agree to represent PokerStars at that event.

Yes. Most events require all players to sign a waiver before playing in their events. You may safely assume that any tournament to which PokerStars provides satellites will have a waiver that you have to sign to participate. For more information about that waiver, please contact live@pokerstars.eu.

Unless otherwise stated, you must be 18 to play in PokerStars satellites to live tournaments. However, some live events require that you be 21. You should not play in satellites to a live event unless you are old enough to play in the target event. If you’re unsure about a particular event’s age requirement, check it’s web page or email live@pokerstars.eu.

You will forfeit the seat without compensation.

Yes, direct registration is usually available to PokerStars-sponsored live events, if you are a PlatinumStar VIP or above. If you qualify, you can email registrations@pokerstars.eu for assistance

In some cases, you may be able to buy seats into events directly via the PokerStars game client using your account balance. If direct registration is not available, you can email registrations@pokerstars.eu.

Yes, if you are one of our most loyal players. That means that you have a PlatinumStar or higher VIP status. Packages and seats for most PokerStars-sponsored live events will be available via the VIP Store in the PokerStars Cashier.

T-Money and FPP buy-ins will only be available until the final day of PokerStars satellites to the event. For events where Direct Buy-In is available, registration may be open up to three hours before the live event starts, and in some cases on-site at the event. Please contact registrations@pokerstars.eu if you have questions, problems or concerns.

In some cases, yes. Please contact registrations@pokerstars.eu to inquire about what options are available.

No. You must play the first seat you win. If you are lucky enough to win additional seats, your PokerStars account will be credited w with T-Money equivalent to the buyin and entry fee. Please see our Terms and Conditions page for complete details.

For some PokerStars-sponsored live events, buy-in to preliminary events may be available via the game client and on-site. Contact registrations@pokerstars.eu for more information on registering for live events.

PokerStars will buy you into the event for which you've won a seat. We will contact you to discuss the exact mechanics of how you get your seat, etc.

Yes. In exchange for us providing this opportunity to get into the event, you are agreeing to represent PokerStars there. Whether you win a satellite on PokerStars or buy in with T-Money, you will have to wear PokerStars clothing during the event. We will provide you with the clothing and hope you'll wear it with pride.
