While we edge deeper into Day 1b of the APPT9 Macau Main Event here, the Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) has just unveiled the two remaining stops in Macau for Season 9. The first of which is the 23rd edition of the Macau Poker Cup (MPC23) running from August 28 to September 13, and the second sees the return of the Asia Championship of Poker (ACOP) which takes place from October 30 to November 15.

The Macau Poker Cup is back for its 23rd run and will once again culminate in the popular HK$12,000 Red Dragon Main Event. The tournament boasts a HK$5 million prize pool guarantee and holds the record for the biggest field in Macau history after last year’s event attracted 995 players.

It was Mongolia’s Buyanjargal Bold who topped that massive field, pocketing HK$1,492,000 and a HK$100,000 ACOP seat for his efforts.

On top of big scores, Official Asia Player of the Year (APOY) leader board points will also be on offer. These can be earned in 17 events across the festival, including the HK$20,000 NL Hold’em and HK$80,000 High Roller.

Among this year’s field will be Team PokerStars Pros Bryan Huang, Kosei Ichinose, Aditya Agarwal Vivian Im and dual Red Dragon champion Celina Lin, who have all confirmed their attendance.

The Asia Championship of Poker kicks off a massive schedule in October. The 17-day series offers 15 ACOP title events and after reaching nearly 3,000 entrants last year, numbers are expected to be even more impressive this time around.

“The support and enthusiasm has been there since Day 1 in the Asia Pacific but the ACOP has really caught the eye of poker players globally after the huge success from last year.” said APPT President Danny McDonagh. “The series has seen a massive growth during its three year run so far. The prize money in 2014 more than doubled the previous year’s totals. We fully expect that positive trend to continue as the ACOP enters its fourth year.”
