Two players won their second titles of the series, while two of the best in the biz clinched their first. All the latest from the Blowout Series…

BLOWOUT BULLETIN

Niklas “Lena900” Åstedt

Lena900 becomes two-time champ: Blowout Series double champions are like buses. You wait for ages for another one to come along (OK, eight days) and then two come along at once. Last night we saw two players join “Stiffler8818” in an elusive club by clinching their second trophies of the series, one of whom is a player we seem to write about at least every other day. Niklas “Lena900” Ă…stedt already had a Blowout win in Event #09-H ($1,050 NLO8 8-Max) for $25,117, but last night he took down the $530 NLHE 8-Max (Event #39-H) for $44,313, defeating 498 others. To top off his excellent evening, Ă…stedt also finished second in the $5,200 6-Max High Roller for $94,485 (keep reading to find out who won that one). The Swedish crusher and all-time money winner in online tournaments ($21.6 million) will now add the two Blowout Series titles to his incredible CV which already includes three WCOOP titles, four SCOOP titles. What a beast.

Second title for serebity_p: The other two-time champ crowned last night was Romania’s “serebity_p” who claimed victory in the $530 NLHE 6-Max (Event #36-M) for $54,152. That prize tops the $42,513 they won in Event #13-H ($1,050 NLHE PKO Turbo). Last night’s win was no easy feat for serebity_p who had to overcome a 189-entry field culminating in a tough final table which included the likes of Thomas “WushTM” Muehloecker (3rd – $27,831) and David “dpeters17” Peters (6th – $10,254).

Joao “Naza114” Vieira

Vieira victorious in $5K High Roller: Railbirds were out in force to watch the final table of the $5,200 6-Max High Roller (Event #36-H) last night, which had 103 total entries. When all was said and done it was Portugal’s Joao “Naza114” Vieira–playing out of the Netherlands–who took it down for $123,067 and his first Blowout Series title. Vieira defeated the aforementioned Ă…stedt (Lena900) heads-up for the trophy, while Bert “girafganger7” Stevens, Timothy “Tim0thee” Adams, Ole “wizowizo” Schemion and Teun “tinnoemulder” Mulder all made the cash. Like Ă…stedt, Vieira already boasts an incredible rĂ©sumĂ© including four SCOOP wins and four WCOOP titles. He keeps crushing every series thrown at him and is the overnight chip leader in the $2,100 PKO Thursday Thrill (Event #40-H). Can he make it two in two nights?

Veldhuis in contention for $2K title: Speaking of the $2,100 PKO Thursday Thrill (Event #40-H), there’s an absolute murderer’s row of talent who will return to end proceedings tonight. 26 of 218 entries remain and while Vieira leads, the likes of Åstedt (Lena900), Andras “probirs” Nemeth, Pedro “PaDiha SP” Padilha, Samuel “€urop€an” Vousden, and Twitch superstar Lex Veldhuis are all still in the mix. Veldhuis sits in 10th on the chip counts with $1,937 won in bounties and $2,410 locked up in the payouts. He’s already finished second in a Blowout Series event for ~$50K, so make sure you tune in to his stream tonight to see if he can make a run at the title.

Gianluca “Tankanza” Speranza

Title for two-time SCOOP Main Event winner: Gianluca “Tankanza” Speranza was also on the winner’s sheet yesterday, defeating 221 others to win the $1,050 NLHE Turbo (Event #41-H) for $42,896. Not bad for just four-and-a-half hour’s work, eh? The Italian, who is now based in Austria, is best known for winning back-to-back SCOOP $5K Main Events in 2018 and 2019 for $2.16 million combined. With form like that, don’t be surprised if we see Speranza join Åstedt and serebity_p in the two-time Blowout Series club before this thing is over.
