Germany’s number one ranked player won a title on Day 14 of the Blowout Series, and the PLO High Roller event paid out over $100k to first place. Here’s the highlights:
BLOWOUT BULLETIN
Two day event ends with big win for dodi papa: The Blowout Series Event #45 gave players two days of ultra-focused poker action. “dodi papa”, one of Hungary’s elite players, took down the 45-H for $40,697, capitalizing on their third entry to the tournament. It’s a win that echoes dodi papa’s Winter Series victory almost a year ago, and takes the player’s total online winnings to over $1.5 million. The medium version of the same event also garnered a huge prize pool. “TurnOnTuneIn” from Brazil made it through a 7,694 strong field to earn $54,372 for first.
Germany’s No 1 ranked player earns title: The next winner is one of Germany’s finest. In fact, he’s currently ranked number one in the country on PocketFives, with over $6.7 million in online cashes to his name. Dominik “Bounatirou” Nitsche’s long list of accomplishments includes a SCOOP title, the EPT Online Cup, some serious WCOOP finishes, and countless wins in the High Roller Club. He’s now a Blowout Series’ winner too. Nitsche put in a solid performance in the #51-H, and despite the best efforts of second place “Warrior25409”, leveraged his chip lead all the way to the finish line to take first place and $30,664.
Over $100k first prize paid out in PLO High Roller: Offering easily the biggest Blowout Series payout of Day 14, the $5,200 Event #52 attracted top Omaha players from around the world, all looking to secure six figure paydays in a field of just 75 runners. Andras “probirs” Nemeth was looking like a serious contender as the bubble broke, but ended up crashing first out in the money. To give you an idea of the prizes up top, “zumbapoker” from Finland came third for $60,328 and “mikki696”from Austria came second for $80,704. The eventual winner, “d.apollo777” from the UK, is an Omaha specialist who’s top wins include fourth place in the EPT Online PLO High Roller, and third place in the WCOOP 2020 PLO Main Event – those events earning the player a combined total of over $250k. d.apollo777 is now a Blowout Series champion and $107,963 richer.
DeepStack and Saturday KO events on break: The medium and high stakes Deepstack Event #48 are on break and will commence later today. Lex Veldhuis is sitting on an average stack in the 48-M, the tourney led by Benefica10 from Canada. Only 20 players remain in the 48-H, with Russian “josef_shvejk” edging a lead over second place “DeadNylon”. All three tiers of the special edition Saturday KO are also on break. Only four players remain in the 49-H, including chip lead “Jamil11” from Canada, who already has $10k locked up in bounties. You can see the results of both of these events tomorrow.
