6+ victory for an online legend, SCOOP High Roller champ claims title, and the biggest win of the night goes to Brazil (no surprises there). Catch up on all the results from Day 21 of the Blowout Series on PokerStars as we look ahead to the $1,050 Big Blowout today (17/1).

BLOWOUT BULLETIN

Shyam “G’s zee” Srinivasan

Srinivasan still supreme: We’ve been watching Canada’s Shyam “G’s zee” Srinivasan crush online poker tournaments for as long as we can remember. With just shy of $10 million in online poker winnings, for a long time, he was battling at the top of online poker’s all-time money list. But while many of his past contemporaries have left the game for good, Srinivasan continues to put up big results and he’s clearly keen to learn new tournament formats, too. Last night Srinivasan took down the $109 medium-edition of Event 79, a 6+ 6-Max tournament, for $9,105, defeating the 412-strong field to win his first Blowout Series title.

Brazil’s “flipmm” banks big: Brazil added one more title to their total tally (which now stands at 26) after Victor “flipmm” Gomes de Castro was triumphant in the two-day $109 NLHE (#74-M). Outlasting a total of 3,681 entries, de Castro won $52,696–the biggest cash of the evening and his second-largest ever. He now has $2.1 million in career earnings.

Success for SCOOP HR champ: Having won the $5,200 Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) for $253,819 back in May 2020, Ukraine’s Andrey “Anjeyyy” Novak is no stranger to grinding big online tournaments over several days. He proved his prowess again last night, winning the $1K edition of #74 for $32,458, no easy feat considering the final table included high-stakes regulars like Patrick “pads1161” Leonard, Simon “simon1171” Higgins, and “VladTheSlaye”. The tournament had 161 total entries.

TWITCH WATCH

A shorter-than-usual stream for Lex Veldhuis last night, not surprising after hands like this didn’t go his way.
