Blinds: 10,000-20,000 (2,000 ante)

5.27pm: Phillips dodges kings
The action folds to Carter Phillips in the small blind and he considers raising before mucking his hand. Cornel Cimpan flashes pocket kings and Phillips breathes a sigh of relief. –RD

5.25pm: Ojala shoving back into chips
Toni Ojala has just chipped up with a 400k all-in shove. Carter Phillips opened with a 45,000 raise from middle position and was reraised Mihai Manole to 115,000. Before Phillips could make a decision about Manole, Ojala smashed all his 400,000 chips into the middle. Both players passed and Ojala is back up to 670,000. –RD

5.16pm: The Kyllonen show part II
Next hand Kyllonen was in up to his knees again. On a flop of A♣ 4♦ 5♦ Mihai Manole took him on, making it 70,000 which Kyllonen called for a Q♣ . Both checked it and the 4♥ river as well. Kyllonen’s pocket sixes beating Manole’s pocket threes. – SB

5.15pm: The Kyllonen show
If prizes were awarded for pots entered and pots won Jens Kyllonen would be champion of the hour, the only rival to Julian Nuijten. Kyllonen made it 50,000 from under-the-gun which Cornell Cimpan called. On the 9â™  3♣ 4♥ flop Kyllonen made it 90,000 which was again called. Both checked the 6â™  turn and Aâ™  river. Kyllonen showed his ace-ten, beating whatever Cimpan had mucked. Kyllonen up to 1,330,000. – SB

5.10pm: Smith double up
Georgios Kapalas raised to 48,000 pre-flop and Asa Smith shoved all in from the small blind for 368,000. Kapalas thought for a while but then found a call and showed Aâ™  J♣ against Smith’s 5♥ 5â™  . The flop had an ace on it, but is also had a five. Smith’s set was good and he’s up to more than 700,000, as Kapalas takes a knock.

5.05pm: They’ve got previous
A massive hand just played out again between Matt Lapossie and Georgios Kapalas. Kapalas raised pre-flop and Lapossie called. The flop came 4♣ 7â™  8♥ and Lapossie checked. Kapalas made a standard bet, which Lapossie raised 89,000 more. Call. The turn was 4♦ and the pattern was repeated: another check raise from Lapossie over Kapalas’s 190,000. This time it was for 403,000, but this time he got a different answer. Kapalas announced he was all in and Lapossie instantly folded.

5pm: Settling in to new home
Mike McDonald was just moved to the outer table and was sat straight into the big blind. Julien Nuijten welcomed him by sticking in an under-the-gun raise to 50,000. McDonald called to see the 8♦ K♦ 8♥ flop where he checked and Nuijten checked behind. McDonald then took the pot down with a 66,000 bet on the 6♥ turn. –MC

4.55pm: Former champ De Wolfe eliminated
Former EPT champion Roland de Wolfe moved all-in from under-the-gun for 220,000. Carter Phillips called with 8â™  8♥ and De Wolfe turned over A♥ 6♣ . The first card from the deck put an end to De Wolfe’s double hopes: 8♣ 4♦ 6â™  9♥ 5♥ . De Wolfe tapped the table and wished everyone good luck. Gone in 15th place.

Roland de Wolfe

4.50pm: Table talk
It was folded around to Roland de Wolfe in the small blind who completed the big blind of Julien Nuijten. Nuijten checked his option to see the Q♣ 3♣ 7♥ flop. De Wolfe led for 35,000 and was called before they checked the 6♥ turn. After the 8♣ fell on the river De Wolfe bet 75,000. There had been a lot of light-hearted table talk throughout the hand and this continued at this avenue between the two. Maybe something De Wolfe said triggered Nuijten into making a raise big enough to put his foe all in. De Wolfe insta-mucked leaving himself with 280,000 compared with the Dutchman’s 910,000. –MC

4.48pm: You can bluff a bluffer
Cornel Cimpan makes a standard 50,00 raise from middle position and is called by Roland de Wolfe in the cut-off. Cimpan checks to De Wolfe on a K♥ Q♣ 7♦ flop and the Englishman contemplates betting then checks. Cimpan watches the 8♥ peel off on the turn and bets out 70,000. It’s enough to make De Wolfe fold. Cimpan shows 3♣ 5♣ for a stone cold bluff. –RD

4.45pm: Matt Lapossie passes two million
The Canadian PokerStars qualifier Matt Lapossie took a big pot from Georgios Kapalas. Lapossie called Kapalas’s pre-flop bet and they saw a flop of 10♣ 8♣ K♦ . Kapalas bets 76,000 and Lapossie calls. The turn is the A♥ and again Kapalas bets, this time 168,000. The river is A♦ and this time both players checked. Lapossie has Jâ™  10â™  and is better than Kapalas’s 2♥ 2♦ . Lapossie has more than two million. – HS

Matt Lapossie

4.40pm: Situation normal
A standard spell on the outer table, most pots going uncontested after a pre-flop raise. Julian Nuijten has been most prominent, despite doubling up Cornel Cimpan. A recent hand made it to the flop. Carter Phillips had made it 55,000 from the small blind which Cimpan called for a flop of Q♣ 3♣ 2â™  . Phillips made it 60,000 more, enough for the pot. – SB

Michael Greco

4.37pm: McDonald hits back
Ari Kolpanitzki opens to 50,000 and Mike McDonald simply shoves all in for 325,000. That’ll do. Kolpanitzki flashes an ace and folds.

4.35pm: McDonald hit again
Mike McDonald raised three hands in a row pre-flop, always 48,000. And every time he has been three-bet and had to lay it down. The latest time it was Georgios Kapalas who made it 121,000 and McDonald folded.

4.25pm: Lapossie the boss
Mike McDonald opened for 48,000 and Matt Lapossie reraised to 122,000, which was enough to persuade McDonald to fold.

4.21pm: Goodwin flexes his muscle
Mike McDonald has just got in a chip slinging competition with Marc Goodwin. Goodwin raised pre-flop to 45,000 and McDonald three-bet to 125,000. Goodwin made the call and check-raised all-in over the top of the Canadian’s 140,000 bet on a Jâ™  5♣ 2♦ flop. Goodwin is up to 2,800,000. McDonald drops to 502,000. –RD

4.20pm: Eights are great for Cimpan
Cornel Cimpan raised to 50,000 from under-the-gun and then called a re-raise to 125,000 from Julien Nuijten on the button. The flop came down Jâ™  3♥ 7♣ before Cimpan shoved for his last 124,000 and Nuijten made the call with A♥ K♣ . Cimpan’s 8â™  8♦ was in good shape and the pot was confirmed as his after the 8♥ turn and 7♦ river. That puts Cimpan up to 500,000 now. –MC

4.15pm: Goodwin drops his raise
Chip leader Marc Goodwin has had to pass his 50,000 pre-flop raise to a shove from Ari Kolpanitzki’s 340,000 stack. Goodwin is still flying high on a table breaking 2,570,000. –RD
