Adrian Mateos should avoid playing anything that has more than 15-minute levels because he is the Turbo king. The Spaniard has just won his second tournament of the day, the €2k Turbo 6-Max, mere hours after winning the €5k Turbo 6-Max.
Mateos picked up €31,450 defeating a field of 52 players just hours after beating a field of 18 players for a €36,290 payout to take his winning for the day to €67,740. It’s hard to think of another person that has managed something similar. Mateos, who leads the Spanish all-time money list had a dominating lead three-handed against Artem Litvinov and Dominik Nitsche.
Litvinov called off first with A♥ 7♠ against Mateos’ J♦ 9♦ but the board came 6♠ 9♣ 4♦ K♥ 7♦ and the Russian went out in third. Nitsche immediately moved all-in in the next hand with 9♦ 6♥ but found himself dominated by Mateos’ A♠ 9♣ . A 4♠ J♦ Q♣ 2♠ Q♠ board gave Mateos two titles for the day. Despite this, Nitsche was more than happy lasting slightly longer than Litvinov, simply for the money jump.
David Pecheur claimed victory in the €300 Turbo version of the EPT Main Event, taking home €8,600 when his J♦ J♠ beat Hamza Radouane’s A♦ 3♦ on a 2♣ 2♥ 10♦ Q♥ 3♠ . Radouane picks up €5,810 for his second place finish while Petr Jelinek managed to make his third final table of the festival, finishing 8th for €1,150.
In the €1,500 two-day event that started yesterday, Emrah Cakmak ended up as the winner after he moved all in on the river of a K♣ 5♥ 6♦ 2♣ 8♥ . Jonathan Abdellatif was a non-believer with A♠ 5♠ and called off his stack but Cakmak turned over 7♦ 4♥ for a rivered straight to secure the title and €41,150. Abdellatif got €28,290 by way of compensation.
Finally, in the last event of the festival, Michael Delaunay beat Louis Michaud in a topsy-turvy battle. In the final hand Delaunay had A♥ 2♠ against Michaud’s Q♠ 7♦ with the board coming 4♥ A♣ 3♥ J♣ 10♠ . Delaunay won €2,630 and Michaud took home €1,820 for second, Eric Sfez, who made the final table of the €10k High Roller earlier today, managed his second cash in the space of a few hours by finishing 7th for €480.
