Blinds: 6,000-12,000 (1,000 ante)
8.30pm: That’ll do it
Alfonso Vaeza opened for 40,000 pre-flop from under the gun. He steps away from the table but is urged back to avoid his hand being made dead (deaded?). He apologised and promised not to do it again. Joel Nordkvist next to him is next to act and moves all-in. It’s folded back to Vaeza who calls, showing K♦ Kâ™ while Nordkvist turned over Aâ™ Q♥ . The board ran out: K♥ 9♥ Q♦ 2♥ 8♣ . Nordkvist is out and we’re done for the day. The final eight are in place.
8.20pm: Something’s up
Something‘s brewing between Shane Reihill and Ilari Sahamies. I’m not sure precisely what, but it’s something and that’s better than nothing. Twice in a row, with Sahamies under-the-gun and then in the big blind, Reihill moved his short stack (about 120,000) all in. The first was over the top of Sahamies 32,000 opening raise; the second was an open shove. Both times they got through, but Sahamies was clearly tempted to call on both occasions, and smiling verbals ensued. Each player refused to tell the other what they had, despite much imploring, and so on they go none the wiser.
8.05pm: Cajelais cajoled
Eric Cajelais opens for 30,000 pre-flop two hands in a row. In the first Eugene Katchalov re-raises, pushing the Canadian out and in the second Ilari Sahamies, after an elaborate counting procedure, moves all in for 205,000 form the big blind. Cajelais calls and shows A♠10♥ to Sahamies A♦ K♠. The board runs out: J♦ 7♠5♦ J♥ 2♠and Sahamies doubles up.
7.55pm: Katchalov clashes with Phillips
After an extended period of exceptionally cautious bubble play — raise and take it, but sometimes just take it without the raise — there was a pot! Eugene Katchalov raised to 30,000 pre-flop from early position and Dennis Phillips called two to his left.
The flop came K♥ 9♥ 8♦ and hey both checked, but the A♦ on the turn sprung Katchalov into gear. He bet 60,000 and Phillips called. The river was the 6♥ and Katchalov stuck out a stack of yellows, worth 100,000. Phillips dwelled for a good long while, but gave it up.
7.40pm: More from Fernandez
Leo Fernandez opened for 32,000 pre-flop two off the button. The thing is, as most are finding, Eric Cajelais wants in and he raised to 82,000 total, 50k more to Fernandez. It seemed a tough one and Fernandez took his time, but eventually folded.
7.27pm: Double up for Leo
Team PokerStars Pro Leo Fernandez managed a nice double up. He raised to 31,000 and faced a re-raise to 80,000 from Eugene Katchalov. Without too much hesitation Fernandez moved all in for a total of 228,000 with A♦ K♦ – and was insta-called by Katchalov with K♣ K♥ .
It looked like Fernandez would be the unlucky bubble boy and go home with nothing – until the board ran 4â™ A♣ 9♥ 7â™ 3♦ .
Fernandez moved up to 460,000, Katchalov falls to around 250,000.

7.25pm: A stretched out bubble
We have now entered level 17 and there are still nine players vying for it. We did have an all in, called, between Shane Reihill and Joel Nordkvist but their ace-kings chopped it.
