March 24, 2015

Event #41, the two-day €2,000 NL Hold’em event got under way today at 4pm with what can only be described as a ‘ridiculously stacked field’.

“How stacked?” you might well be asking.

To give you an idea of just how pro-heavy this tournament is, here’s just a few of the names playing so far with registration still open until the end of level 4:

“Oh, so you’re here…” Team PokerStars Pros Vanessa Selbst and Eugene Katchalov are ready to do battle

This event is the only tournament starting today which won’t finish tonight, all survivors will be returning tomorrow at 12pm tomorrow to play to a finish.

Other tournaments under way today are the EPT Limit Razz Championships which has attracted 23 players so far including Dzmitry Urbanovich (who has already won three events here so far) EPT Dortmund runner-up Cristiano Blanco, IPT Malta finalist Frederik Reusc as well as Alexander Dovzhenko and Thomas Butzhammer. Could Urbanovich win a fourth event? You wouldn’t put it past him…

A total of 31 places will be paid a minimum of €920 while the winner will receive a healthy €22,000 as well as a splendid trophy.

Late on this evening there is the €200 Deuces Wild event beginning at 9.15pm while at midnight there is the (deep breath) €500 + €500 Midnight HyperTurbo Bounty Win the Button 6-Handed tournament. Apparently it’s impossible to say the name of that tournament five times within ten seconds.
