A three-way all-in during the last hand of the night saw Anatoly Korochenskiy leapfrog into the lead in the two-day €2k event with 80 players remaining out of the initial 315. Korochenskiy held KK against AK and J9 only for the board to come 33810K – the Russian making a full house but was so disbelieving of it all that he had to check with the dealer first to ensure he’d won the pot. He finished with 134,000 ahead of Marcelo Bonata (114,200), Charlie Carrel (98,500) and Simeon Naydenov (93,700). Team PokerStars Pro will be represented on Day 2 by Vanessa Selbst (71,200), Eugene Katchalov (68,100) and Team PokerStars Pro Online’s Marc-Andre Ladouceur (14,400).

The €500 + €500 Midnight HyperTurbo Bounty Win the Button 6-Handed, which is already winning the award for longest titled tournament of the festival, has kicked off with 215 players. The popularity was such that as soon as tables broke in the Deuces Wild event, the floor staff would scurry aroud like an efficient team of ants making it compatible for six-handed play. The list of people playing this event is impressive and includes Christopher Frank, EPT champions Frederik Jenson, Ruben Visser and Salvatore Bonavena, Sergio Aido, Albert Daher Georgios Zisimopoulos, Jan Bendik, Ole Schemion, Dzmitry Urbanovich, Cristiano Blanco, Dominik Nitsch, Pierre Neuville and Joep van den Bijgaart.
