EPT10 Barcelona: Jamila joyous after river save

September 05, 2013

As the final level of Day 4 begins, less than 30 players remain in the EPT Barcelona Main Event, with Jamila Von Perger the lone woman remaining among the field.

Von Perger nearly left us a short while ago after a wild hand that saw her all in for nearly 500,000 (almost 25 big blinds) before the flop with 4♥4♦ versus the A♦9♣ of Florian-Dimitrie Duta.

An ace flopped, and when the turn brought no help Von Perger was down to just a couple of outs with only fifth street to go. The 4♠ then happily fell to preserve Von Perger’s tournament life.

The combination of cards and result added up to high drama and some emotion, too, as our photographer Neil Stoddart was able to capture.

Afterwards Sarah Grant caught up with Von Perger to talk about the hand and her strategy discussions with poker pro boyfriend Manig Loeser.
