Home / Uncategorized / EPT10 Sanremo: Vicky Coren Mitchell on the verge of historic double

More words have been fired into the text panel of PokerStars Blog about the wait for a two-time champion than we could possibly count (quickly). Take this article, for instance: PokerStars 10th Anniversary review: Slaying the EPT monkey. Add in the air-time, the video blogs, and the conversations around the bar at the end of a long night… It’s a lot

Tonight that could change. Coren Mitchell came into the day with just 910,000, the shortest stack of the eight remaining players. Even after the elimination of the first two players, Coren Mitchell continued to be one of the shorter stacks, but slowly but surely started to chip up with four players remaining. Now, with just two players remaining, Coren Mitchell stands on the verge of becoming the first-ever double EPT champion on the 98th EPT Main Event some time after her 2006 EPT London win. Coren, who holds the lead over Giacomo Fundaro, now has €298,700 locked up, but €476,100 is there for the taking.

In case you’re new to poker, this is a big deal, a really big deal. Lots of world-class players have been chasing this for years. Mike “Timex” McDonald came close at the PCA in January. Can Coren Mitchell go one step closer?
