EPT12 Prague: Gleb Tremzin ready to open door #3 of Main Event

Here’s the thing about a poker tournament. Each day begins with a chance of something amazing. You show up, you’re rewarded with opportunity, and with each new day, you’re one step closer to the ultimate prize. It’s like advent calendar with less chocolate and more money.

As we end Day 2 of the EPT Prague Main Event a little more than 200 hopefuls have an opportunity to open another window in this high stakes advent calendar. At the top of them all, Russia’s Gleb Tremzin who started the day with with 168,000 and finished on 610,500.

Gleb TremzinIf you’re looking for a good story behind your advent calendar winner, consider Niall Ferrell who sits on 547,000. He’s just a few weeks removed from winning EPT Malta and seems intent on making another run.

Not too far behind is Samuel Chartier who began the day as the chip leader and finished with, 444,000. Unlike the others in the event, Chartier doesn’t get a break. He is now heading over to the Eureka High Roller where he is one of the eight final table players.

Included among the survivors is Team PokerStars Pro Matthias de Meulder who managed to run a short stack up to 137,000 by the end of the day. He’ll be joined by Ivan Demidov, Johnny Lodden, and Team Onliner Mickey Petersen.

De Meulder (left) laughs it up with Johnny LoddenWith just a few minutes left in the day, Team PokerStars Pro Chris Moneymaker ran straight into the Grinch. Over the course of the day, he’d worked his stack up to more than 300,000. It didn’t last as long as he might have hoped. After a table change, he lost two big hands in a row to lose a huge chunk of his stack.

Moneymaker survived with 93,000 but he’ll be coming back tomorrow hoping there’s something a little better in store for him behind the Day 3 window than how Day 2 ended.

The Main Event will resume with Day 3 on Sunday where the advent calendar gets even better as the money bubble bursts. We’ll be back at noon with full coverage.
