Glaser hits seven for SCOOP as stars shine on packed Day 3
Tuesday night was the busiest yet in the 2022 Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) — and the players who like this series best duly showed why. Read today’s star-studded SCOOP round-up.

Glaser has already made his mark this year
Magnificent seven for Glaser: The first HORSE event of this year’s SCOOP brought out all the mixed game wizards, and they really don’t come any more wizard-like than the UK’s Benny “RunGodlike” Glaser. The headline news today is that Glaser is now a seven-time SCOOP champion having prevailed over a field of 34 entries in the $2,100 buy-in SCOOP-09-H event. This latest victory earned Glaser $31,080, but perhaps even more importantly keeps going one of SCOOP’s most amazing streaks. Glaser has won at least one tournament in this series since 2018, and now joins Jussi “calvin7v” Nevanlinna and Mike “SirWatts” Watson in the seven-up club. More from the HORSE: There were some other noteworthy performances across the three buy-in levels of this HORSE event, not least from Tobias “Senkel92” Leknes. Leknes finished second in both the high buy-in version, where he lost to Glaser, and in the $22 buy-in version, where he lost heads-up to Gerard “Kid_Poker47” Barclay. Leknes is stranded on three SCOOP titles, but might easily have had five if the cards had gone another way last night. Meanwhile, Denmark’s “CMoosepower” earned their fourth career SCOOP title by winning the $109 “medium” tournament in this event. CMoosepower beat Argentina’s “Assad91” heads up to continue a pretty excellent winning streak of their own. CMoosepower has won in 2012, 2014, 2018 and now 2022, skipping the odd numbers. This title was over a field of 319 entries and was worth $12,282.

Barer won his career third
More and more multiple champs: The aforementioned list of multiple SCOOP champions is going to need some heavy-duty maintenance at the end of this series, especially if we have many more events like the 6+, which wrapped last night. The $109 medium buy-in tournament went to Canada’s Ami “UhhMee” Barer, the third SCOOP title he has won, and the $1,050 high buy-in went to Matt “OLD TIME GIN” Stone, who now has four. Barer won $6,612 for beating a field of 360 entries, while Stone took $17,754 after a heads-up chop with “Simis3971”, of Lithuania. Simis3971 actually earned marginally more from the deal, but it’s Barer and Stone who move up the all-time SCOOP champions leader board.
Moolhuizen still on a streak from last time
Moolhuizen gets it done early: During last year’s SCOOP, Mateusz “KeyserMM” Moolhuizen had to wait until the final day to pick up the first title in this series of his career. He won the appropriately named “Series Wrap-Up” for $23K. Moolhuizen got things done a bit earlier this time around and snagged his second career SCOOP on the series’ third day. Moolhuizen, a native Dutchman who now plays from the UK, won SCOOP 08-M: $109 NLHE and picked up $74,099 for his troubles this time, defeating a final table that also included the PokerStars Ambassador Rafael “GM_VALTER” Moraes. Moraes finished fifth.
Darie is among Romania’s most consistent performers
Reliable Darie puts Romania on the SCOOP list: If the much-touted “Year of Romania” ever comes into being, there’s a very high chance that Vlad “dariepoker” Darie is a prime mover. He’s been plugging away at the PokerStars tables, with great success, for many years and last night earned a second SCOOP title of his career. Darie was the last man standing in the $530 buy-in SCOOP-10-H PKO hold’em event, where he banked $61,429, about half of which came in bounties.
A customary title for Stokkan
Lex bubbles; Stokkan wins: On the subject of reliable, Preben “prebz” Stokkan is another player always involved in the late stages of major tournaments on PokerStars, and if you always run deep, you’ll end up with a hatful of title. Stokkan’s latest — his second career SCOOP — came in the $2,100 buy-in 8-Max PKO Freezeout, and earned the UK-based player $65,971, including $38K in bounties. Lex Veldhuis stone-bubbled this event.
Sintoras denied twice: There have already been a handful of startling performances this year where a single player has run deep in more than one tournament at the same time. Last night, Germany’s “Sintoras” did the same, finishing fourth in the tournament won by Moolhuizen, above, and also getting to the heads-up stage of the $1,050 “High” buy-in version of that event. However, Sintoras again came up short, defeated by Uruguay’s “tigredefu297“, who earned the first SCOOP win of their career. The title came with a payday of $104,028.
