There was lots of exciting action this weekend, with the BSOP online running alongside the Sunday majors and High Roller Club tourneys. Highlights include:
- “c0rl30n3_89” wins Sunday Million
- Ivan “Negriin” Luca scores six figures in High Roller event
- Dominik “Bounatirou” Nitsche and Christopher “ImDaNuts” Oliver score big in HRC
- Plus, Sunday major and latest BSOP online results
This weekend’s Sunday Million had 12,860 entries for a total prize pool of $1.28 million. With so much to play for, the two players remaining at the end opted for a split, evening out the winnings and ensuring both walked away with six-figure paydays.
Third place “eValiukas” from Lithuania missed out on the chop, but should be pretty happy with their result. They won the Mini-Million for $15k just last month, and this time earned $67,153 for their performance in the ‘Big One’.
Brazilian “fcb-serv” did make it to heads-up and shook on the deal. They too have been on a roll as of late, earning decent scores on SCOOP and WCOOP final tables last year and now topping it all with a second place finish in the Millie worth $101,074.
“c0rl30n3” from Romania outlasted the field to come out on top. They earned $118,981 for first place and, like the other top finishers, will be giving themselves a huge pat on the back for their biggest ever score.
Thhe High Roller Club ran a one-off tournament this weekend, with a $5,200 buy-in and $500k guarantee – 123 players joined the party, making for a total prize pool of $615k.
Last week’s Summer Series HR winner Fedor “CrownUpGuys” Holz looked like he was in for making it two in a row, but was the first to crash out of the final table, taking with him $22,593 for eighth place. Pros Jans “Graftekkel” Arends and Jon “apestyles” Van Fleet were soon to follow behind him.
The top end of the table didn’t look any easier.
“needdollarz” was up there. They have Sunday Million wins to their name, as well as scoring one of the biggest Turbo Series wins last year for $239k. The Russian player finished third in this weekend’s High Roller event, earning $80,920.
Also in with a shot at the win was renowned Danish pro “IgorKarkarof”, who’s tally includes a recent WCOOP title. He earned six-figures, $104,441 for second.
Ivan “Negriin” Luca, who is currently number one on the Argentinian all time money-list with over $6.5 million in recorded winnings, outlasted the incredibly tough field to earn $134,799 for first place, and showing beyond doubt that he belongs at the top of the pack.
Yeah, I wouldn’t fancy my chances in that particular event.
The second edition of BSOP Online ran 14 events this weekend, including two Main Events.
The $215 Main Event reached a prize pool of $418k from 2,092 entries. Five out of the nine players left on the final table were from Brazil, but it was “Alex Bez” who eventually outlasted the competition to claim the BSOP Main Event title. He cut a deal with second place “Alexey5758” before claiming the $55,941 first prize.
The $22 Main Event had 7,232 entries for a prize pool of $144k. Despite four Brazilian players making the final table, Hungarian “kriispirolls” took first place, scoring $20,545 and a BSOP title.
In the BSOP High Roller event, Brazilian “Warley Bruno”, who’s past wins include the Sunday Million, bested UK “AfRoBiZzle!” heads-up to earn the $22,435 first prize, as well as claiming another title for his country.
Also picking up BSOP titles this weekend were “addionutz” from the UK, “JohnyBoj” from Poland, “7777jk” from Brazil, “krasark” from Canada, “RafaCorreaBR” from Brazil, and “Renbrant” from Canada, “DavidoFF0222” from Uzbekistan and “FiatEruditio” from Russia.
Dominik “Bounatirou” Nitsche is one of the most accomplished players in the world, with over $21 million total winnings, 4 WSOP bracelets and a SCOOP title to his name. Last week, he scored an impressive double in the HRC, taking down both the $1,050 Daily Cooldown and $530 Supersonic on Saturday.
This week Nitsche was back again, this time on a tough final table of pros in the Sunday Warm-up. Fedoz Holz, “Tomatee” and “ImDaNuts” all crashed out early, leaving Nitsche to continue his rampage and claim the $21,507 first prize.
This wouldn’t be the the last we’d see of Christopher “ImDaNuts” Oliver at the weekend. The Costa Rica based pro dominated the HRC Sunday Cooldown. He delivered the final KO to second place “CrazyLissy” to claim the top spot and a total of $30,912 ($13,146 + $17,796 bounties).
“wonderboy222” from the UK, who’s scored include a run of Bounty Builder tournaments and 2020 SCOOP title, was also among the big winners in the High Roller Club. After making a deal with Danish “chorizo72” heads-up, wonderboy222 finished first in the $1,050 Sunday Supersonic, earning $20,704 in just 2 hours 16 minutes.
“tobbeb95” from Sweden picked up the biggest Omaha win of the weekend, earning $10,121 for first place in Sunday’s $530 HRC Omaha event.
