6:03pm: Sotiropoulos wins the LAPT Bahamas Main Event ($308,220)! Von Kriegenbergh runner-up ($187,220)
Level 32 – Blinds 80,000-160,000 (20,000 ante)

Georgios Sotiropoulos limped from the button, Taylor Von Kriegenbergh put in a raise, and Sotiropoulos called, bringing the pot up over 1 million.

The flop came all hearts — 10♥ 6♥ 2♥ — and Von Kriegenbergh led with a bet of 525,000. Sotiropoulos paused a few beats, and made the call.

The turn then brought the 7♦ and a check from Von Kriegenbergh. Sotiropoulos took the opening to bet 825,000, and when Von Kriegenbergh responded with an all-in push, Sotiropoulos snap-called.

Von Kriegenbergh: A♦ 10♦
Sotiropoulos: A♥ 5♥

Von Kriegenbergh had flopped top pair, but Sotiropoulos flopped the nuts with an ace-high flush. The 2â™  meaninglessly fell on the river as Von Kriegenbergh congratulated Sotiropoulos on a well-played hand and tournament.

5:50pm: Von Kriegenbergh chips up
Level 32 – Blinds 80,000-160,000 (20,000 ante)

Taylor Von Kriegenbergh and Georgios Sotiropoulos battled to the river as the board came 2♥ Q♣ 5♥ 9♠ 8♠ at which point Von Kriegenbergh fired a bet of 1.05 million. Sotiropoulos considered a bit before calling, and when Von Kriegenbergh showed Q♠ 5♣ for two pair, Sotiropoulos mucked.

Georgios Sotiropoulos — 11,300,000
Taylor Von Kriegenbergh — 5,720,000

Level 32 – Blinds 80,000-160,000 (20,000 ante)

With Georgios Sotiropoulos up to about 13.5 million and Taylor Von Kriegenbergh at about 3.5 million, the pair continue into Level 32.

5:40pm: The battle continues
Level 31 – Blinds 60,000-120,000 (20,000 ante)

Taylor Von Kriegenbergh has pushed all in a couple of times without getting called, and just now Georgios Sotiropoulos four-bet pushed, getting a fold from Von Kriegenbergh. Otherwise the stacks remain roughly the same.

5:23pm: Heads-up chip counts
Level 31 – Blinds 60,000-120,000 (20,000 ante)

The final two players wished each other good luck and complimented each others’ play, and the first hand of heads-up was dealt. Here’s how their stacks look to begin heads-up play:

Georgios Sotiropoulos — 13,170,000
Taylor Von Kriegenbergh — 3,850,000

5:21pm: Knut Karnapp eliminated in 3rd place ($132,080)
Level 31 – Blinds 60,000-120,000 (20,000 ante)

Knut Karnapp open-pushed for about 1 million from the button and when action reached Taylor Von Kriegenbergh he called in a flash. Karnapp had J♦ 10♦ , but he’d run into Von Kriegenbergh’s K♣ K♥ — and five cards later — Q♥ 8♦ 2♣ 8♥ 2♣ — Karnapp was out in third, wishing his opponents good luck as he departed.

5:14pm: Updated counts; 3 remain
Level 31 – Blinds 60,000-120,000 (20,000 ante)

Georgios Sotiropoulos — 10,070,000
Taylor Von Kriegenbergh — 5,400,000
Knut Karnapp — 1,550,000

5:10pm: Joe Kuether eliminated in 4th place ($99,060)
Level 31 – Blinds 60,000-120,000 (20,000 ante)

Taylor Von Kriegenbergh rasier to 250,000 from the cutoff seat, then when action got to Georgios Sotiropoulos he reraised all in. Joe Kuether sat in the big blind thinking for a bit, then said he was all in as well for his last 1.5 million or so, and Von Kriegenbergh stepped aside.

Sotiropoulos: Qâ™  9â™
Kuether: J♥ J♠

Kuether was ahead before the flop and still led following the K♦ 10♠ A♠ flop and 7♦ turn. But the 6♠ river made a flush for Sotiropoulos, and Kuether hits the rail in third place.

5:05pm: Another double for Karnapp
Level 31 – Blinds 60,000-120,000 (20,000 ante)

Taylor Von Kriegenbergh raised to 250,000 from the button, then Knut Karnapp reraised all in from the small blind and when it got back to Von Kriegenbergh he called. Karnapp and A♦ 3♠ and Von Kriegenbergh J♠ 10♣ . The board came 2♥ 5♣ 2♦ Q♥ 7♠ , and Karnapp survived again.

Karnapp has about 1.3 million now while Von Kriegenbergh has 5.5 million.

4:58pm: Karnapp doubles through Sotiropoulos
Level 31 – Blinds 60,000-120,000 (20,000 ante)

Knut Karnapp open-raised all in with his last 550,000 from the small blind, and after hemming and hawing a bit Georgios Sotiropoulos decided to call from the big blind, turning over 8♦ 6♥ as he did. The table chuckled a little at the sight of Karnapp’s hand — A♦ A♣ — and after the board came 4♦ 10♦ 10♣ 4♣ K♦ , Karnapp earned a double.

Karnapp is back to about 1.1 million while Sotiropoulos still has around 7.5 million.

4:52pm: Kuether doubles through Karnapp
Level 31 – Blinds 60,000-120,000 (20,000 ante)

Knut Karnapp opened with an all-in push from under the gun/cutoff, and after thinking a bit Joe Kuether called all in for his last 975,000 from the small blind.

Karnapp had Q♠ Q♦ while Kuether showed A♦ J♦ . The board ran out 6♣ K♠ J♠ 8♠ J♥ , giving Kuether trip jacks and pushing him up over 2 million while Karnapp slipped to about 750,000.

4:44pm: Level 31 begins, Sotiropoulos leads final four
Level 31 – Blinds 60,000-120,000 (20,000 ante)

They’re back at it, and so are we. Here are the chip counts from the break:

Georgios Sotiropoulos — 8,200,000
Taylor Von Kriegenbergh — 5,350,000
Knut Karnapp — 1,860,000
Joe Kuether — 1,400,000

4:28pm: Break time

The final four have reached the end of Level 30 and are now taking another 15-minute break. Back in a few with updated counts.

4:19pm: Von Kriegenbergh takes some from Sotiropoulos
Level 30 – Blinds 50,000-100,000 (10,000 ante)

Taylor Von Kriegenbergh limped in from the button — as he’s done a few times of late — and Knut Karnapp called from the small blind. Georgios Sotiropoulos then raised to 360,000 from the big blind, earning a call from Von Kriegenbergh and a fold from Karnapp.

The flop came 9♥ 3♣ 2♥ , and Sotiropoulos led for 400,000. Acting with deliberation, Von Kriegenbergh called. The turn was the 5♠ . This time Sotiropoulos checked, and after a pause Von Kriegenbergh bet 675,000. Sotiropoulos tanked for some time before calling.

The river was the 10â™  . Sotiropoulos checked again, and this time another lengthy pause from Von Kriegenbergh culminated with an announcement that he was all in. Sotiropoulos thought for some time, then let his hand go.

That one looks to have pushed Von Kriegenbergh up around 5 million while Sotiropoulos is still leading with more than 8 million.

3:54pm: Will Molson eliminated in 5th place ($78,080)
Level 30 – Blinds 50,000-100,000 (10,000 ante)

Leader Georgios Sotiropoulos opened with an all-in push from the button, and Will Molson called all-in for about 1.75 million from the big blind.

Sotiropoulos: A♠ 8♣
Molson: A♣ K♦

Molson had the preflop edge, but the 2♥ 8♦ 10â™  flop swung the advantage in Sotiropoulos’s direction. The turn was the 6♦ and river the 9♣ , and Molson is out in fifth.

Will Molson---LAPT 9S-PCA2016-2945.jpg

Will Molson – 5th place
With four left, Sotiropoulos has about two-thirds of the chips in play.

Georgios Sotiropoulos — 11,050,000
Taylor Von Kriegenbergh — 3,200,000
Knut Karnapp — 1,900,000
Joe Kuether — 1,550,000

3:42pm: Chad Eveslage eliminated in 6th place ($58,440)
Level 30 – Blinds 50,000-100,000 (10,000 ante)

Will Molson opened with an all-in push for 560,000, then Chad Eveslage reraise-shoved from the next seat for 1.44 million. The action on Taylor Von Kriegenbergh on the button, he reraised all in over the top of both, and everyone else stepped aside.

Molson: A♥ K♦
Eveslage: Q♣ Q♥
Von Kriegenbergh: A♣ Q♠

The flop came A♦ 9♦ 8♦ , giving Molson top pair (and top kicker) and also the nut-flush draw. The turn was the 3♣ , leaving Eveslage looking for the Q♠ to survive. But the river was the 5♣ , giving Molson a triple-up, Von Kriegenbergh the side pot, and sending Eveslage out in sixth.

Chad Eveslage-LAPT 9S-PCA2016-2953.jpg

Chad Eveslage – 6th place
3:35pm: Von Kriegenbergh doubles through Molson
Level 30 – Blinds 50,000-100,000 (10,000 ante)

After both Chad Eveslage and Joe Kuether open-raised all in without getting callers, it was Will Molson doing the same from the button, then watching Taylor Von Kriegenbergh call all in for a bit less from the big blind.

Molson had Q♦ 10♣ while Von Kriegenbergh had 9♦ 9♥ . The 5♦ J♠ Q♠ flop gave Molson the edge, but the 8♥ turn and 10♠ river added up to a straight for Von Kriegenbergh to enable him to survive.

Von Kriegenbergh has about 2.5 million now while Molson has been knocked back to about 600,000.

3:29pm: Level 30 begins, Sotiropoulos leads final six
Level 30 – Blinds 50,000-100,000 (10,000 ante)

They’ve moved into the next level without a break, with Sotiropoulos still the overwhelming leader.

3:23pm: Karnapp doubles through Kuether
Level 29 – Blinds 40,000-80,000 (10,000 ante)

Knut Karnapp opened with an all-in push for 1.1 million from the button and got a caller in Joe Kuether playing from the big blind.

Kuether: 9♠ 9♦
Karnapp: K♥ 10♦

The Q♦ 2â™  Kâ™  flop hit Karnapp’s hand, and after the 7♣ turn and 4â™  river Karnapp had survived with a double-up. He has about 2.3 million now while Kuether sits with about 1.4 million.

3:18pm: Darren Elias eliminated in 7th place ($41,100)
Level 29 – Blinds 40,000-80,000 (10,000 ante)

Georgios Sotiropoulos had been opening practically every hand for a while, and he was raising once again to 180,000 to start another one. It folded to Darren Elias on the button who reraise-shoved for about 1.25 million, and when the action got back to Sotiropoulos he called in a flash.

Elias had picked up 10♥ 10♦ , but this time Sotiropoulos had Q♥ Q♣ . The flop came A♦ 3♥ 9♠ , then the Q♠ fell on the turn to improve Sotiropoulos to a set and leave Elias drawing dead to finish in seventh.

Darren Elias-LAPT 9S-PCA2016-2921.jpg

Darren Elias – 7th place
Sotiropoulos is up around 8 million now, way ahead of the remaining five.

3:10pm: No call for Karnapp
Level 29 – Blinds 40,000-80,000 (10,000 ante)

Taylor Von Kriegenbergh opened for 180,000, then Knut Karnapp set out a stack from one seat over with an intention of pushing all in. He didn’t announce it, though, meaning the raise was for 725,000 as he still had 105,000 behind.

It folded back to Von Kriegenbergh who thought about the situation for a short while, then folded. Karnapp is up over 1 million at the moment, while Von Kriegenbergh has about 1.55 million.

3:02pm: Sotiropoulos keeps up the pressure
Level 29 – Blinds 40,000-80,000 (10,000 ante)

Georgios Sotiropoulos opened for 180,000 from middle position, then Chad Eveslage reraised to 525,000 from the small blind. The action back on Sotiropoulos, he paused for a short while before announcing he was four-betting all in, and Eveslage immediately folded.

Sotiropoulos opened the next pot as well, winning the blinds and antes. He’s still way ahead of everyone with more than 6.5 million, while Eveslage sits distantly behind among the chase pack with about 1.5 million.

2:55pm: Von Kriegenbergh doubles again, this time through Elias
Level 29 – Blinds 40,000-80,000 (10,000 ante)

Taylor Von Kriegenbergh has climbed up out of the danger zone — danger zone! — after doubling up again through Darren Elias.

Von Kriegenbergh was all in and at risk with A♦ K♦ versus Elias’s 7♦ 7♣ , and a runout of Q♥ 4♦ K♥ 3â™  3♣ gave him kings and treys to beat Elias’s two pair. Von Kriegenbergh is now up to about 1.8 million while Elias sits with about 1.6 million.

2:42pm: Returning the favor — Von Kriegenbergh doubles through Molson
Level 29 – Blinds 40,000-80,000 (10,000 ante)

After a mid-position open by Will Molson, Taylor Von Kriegenbergh reraised all in from the cutoff with his short stack and when it folded back to Molson he called right away.

Von Kriegenbergh had 10â™  10♣ and was hoping the tens would hold against Molson’s A♥ K♣ . The board came Q♣ 2â™  4♣ , then 8♣ , then 9♦ , and Von Kriegenbergh survived although is still shortest chip-wise among the final seven.

Will Molson — 2,180,000
Taylor Von Kriegenbergh — 780,000

2:38pm: Molson doubles through Von Kriegenbergh
Level 29 – Blinds 40,000-80,000 (10,000 ante)

Will Molson open-raised all in for 1,075,000 from the button and got a caller in Taylor Von Kriegenbergh in the big blind. Molson had A♣ 2♠ while Von Kriegenbergh held K♣ J♦ . The flop came 2♥ 10♦ A♥ to pair Molson twice, then the 2♦ filled him up and made the 5♣ river no matter.

Molson is up around 2.5 million now while Von Kriegenbergh falls to about 300,000 to become the table’s short stack.

2:34pm: Elias over Molson
Level 29 – Blinds 40,000-80,000 (10,000 ante)

Darren Elias limped in from the small blind and Will Molson checked from a seat over. The flop came Q♠ 8♥ 10♣ , and both checked. The turn brought the 9♦ and another check from Elias. Molson bet 100,000, and Elias called.

The river was the 4â™  . Elias checked again, and Molson bet what looked like 230,000. Elias called instantly, showing Jâ™  8♣ for a queen-high straight. That was better than Molson’s 9♦ 7â™  , and Elias claimed the pot.

Darren Elias — 2,400,000
Will Molson — 1,150,000

2:29pm: The final seven return for Level 29
Level 29 – Blinds 40,000-80,000 (10,000 ante)

The final seven players are back in their seats and a new level is underway. Here’s what their stacks look like as play resumes, with Georgios Sotiropoulos now up over 6 million — more than three times any of the nearest challengers.

Seat 2: Taylor Von Kriegenbergh — 1,450,000
Seat 3: Knut Karnapp — 1,610,000
Seat 4: Georgios Sotiropoulos — 6,180,000

2:13pm: Break time

The final seven players have reached the end of Level 28 and the first 15-minute break of the day. Back shortly with updated chip counts all around.

2:12pm: Karnapp doubles through Sotiropoulos
Level 28 – Blinds 30,000-60,000 (10,000 ante)

In the last hand of the level, Knut Karnapp opened with an all-in push of 730,000 and got one caller in Georgios Sotiropoulos in the small blind. Karnapp had A♠ Q♠ and Sotiropoulos A♦ J♥ , and after the board ran out K♣ 9♥ 5♦ 3♦ 3♣ , Karnapp doubled up to more than 1.5 million. Sotiropoulos is still comfortably in the chip lead, however.

1:59pm: The last seven taking it slow
Level 28 – Blinds 30,000-60,000 (10,000 ante)

Action has slowed considerably since Ismael Bojang’s elimination in eighth place, with the pots remaining on the small side and Georgios Sotiropoulos continuing to maintain his chip lead. Sotiropoulos and Joe Kuether (sitting side-by-side) have been involved frequently, although the pots between them haven’t grown too much amid their postflop manuevering.

1:38pm: Ismael Bojang eliminated in 8th place ($28,900)
Level 28 – Blinds 30,000-60,000 (10,000 ante)

Ismael Bojang open-raised from early position and it folded around to Darren Elias in the big blind. Elias asked how much the shove was for — 430,000 — then made the call.

Bojang had 7♦ 7♥ and was hoping to fade Elias’s A♦ 2♥ , and was successful doing so through the 9♥ 5♥ K♣ flop. But the turn was the Aâ™  , then the river brought the A♥ to improve Elias to trips and send Bojang out in eighth place.

Elias has about 2.1 million now. There is 20 minutes left in the level, after which will come the first break of the day.

Ismael Bojang-LAPS 9S-PCA 2016-2934.jpg

Ismael Bojang – 8th place
1:38pm: Sotiropoulos surge
Level 28 – Blinds 30,000-60,000 (10,000 ante)

Taylor Von Kriegenbergh opened for 140,000 from middle position and got three callers in leader Georgios Sotiropoulos (cutoff), Darren Elias (small blind), and Will Molson (big blind).

The flop came 4♥ 3♦ 9♠ , and it checked around to Sotiropoulos who bet 255,000. Only Elias called. Both checked the 4♣ turn, then the 9♥ river put a second pair on board. At that Elias bet 150,000, and after some thought Sotiropoulos called.

Elias had 6♣ 6♠ , but Sotiropoulos had that pipped with 7♥ 7♦ and he took the pot. Sotiropoulos had just won a decent-sized pot off of Joe Kuether, and is now pushing up toward the 5 million-chip mark. Meanwhile Elias has about 2 million, and Kuether sits with just under 1.7 million.

1:21pm: Final table underway!
Level 28 – Blinds 30,000-60,000 (10,000 ante)

Without much of a break they’ve moved into Level 28 and the official final table has begun, with Georgios Sotiropoulos still leading the way and Darren Elias next in line in chips. Meanwhile, Ismael Bojang is now the short stack.

Here again are approximate counts as they get started:

Seat 1: Ismael Bojang — 520,000
Seat 2: Taylor Von Kriegenbergh — 1,950,000
Seat 3: Knut Karnapp — 805,000
Seat 4: Georgios Sotiropoulos — 3,800,000
Seat 5: Joe Kuether — 2,500,000
Seat 6: Darren Elias — 2,950,000
Seat 7: Will Molson — 1,950,000
Seat 8: Chad Eveslage — 1,850,000

The LAPT9 Bahamas Main Event final table
1:08pm: Luc Greenwood eliminated in 9th place ($22,920)
Level 27 – Blinds 25,000-50,000 (5,000 ante)

In the very last hand of Level 27, Luc Greenwood open-raised all in with his last 620,000 or so from under the gun, then Taylor Von Kriegenbergh reraise-shoved from a seat over and everyone else got out of the way. The players tabled their cards, and Greenwood winced a little at the sight of what he was up against.

Greenwood: J♥ J♦
Von Kriegenbergh: A♠ A♥

The board brought five babies — 4â™  2♦ 5♦ 3♣ 3♦ — and Greenwood hits the rail in ninth. There will be a short pause in play as they ready for the official eight-handed final table. Stay tuned!

12:51pm: Andre Akkari eliminated in 10th place ($18,900)
Level 27 – Blinds 25,000-50,000 (5,000 ante)

With Ismael Bojang and Luc Greenwood both battling to survive with short stacks over on Table 10, it was Andre Akkari also repeatedly pushing in his short stack on Table 9, and the Brazilian became the one to get called and be eliminated first.

After open-pushing his last 600,000 or so from the button, Akkari watched Joe Kuether quickly call from the big blind. Akkari had 7♣ 7♦ , but he’d run into Kuether’s Qâ™  Q♥ , and after the board came A♣ 4♦ 10♥ Aâ™  J♣ , Akkari was knocked out in 10th. Kuether now has about 2.3 million.

Andre Akkari-LAPT 9S-PCA2016-2909.jpg

Team PokerStars Pro Andre Akkari – 10th place
They are drawing and reassembling around a single nine-handed table now, with both Bojang and Greenwood sitting on stacks of around 650,000.

12:38pm: Akkari the short stack
Level 27 – Blinds 25,000-50,000 (5,000 ante)

Andre Akkari has become the short stack after a little more than half an hour of play today, and just now open-raised his 490,000 all in from the button, earning himself the blinds and antes and a small boost to his stack.

Andre Akkari — 620,000

12:30pm: Molson doubles through Eveslage
Level 27 – Blinds 25,000-50,000 (5,000 ante)

After a Chad Eveslage open from the cutoff, it folded to Will Molson in the small blind who reraised all in for his last 875,000. Action returning to Eveslage, he called right away.

Molson: J♠ J♥
Eveslage: A♣ Q♠

The board brought five low cards, coming 3♥ 9â™  8♥ 2♣ 7♣ — and Molson survived.

Will Molson — 1,700,000
Chad Eveslage — 975,000

12:23pm: Bojang doubles through Greenwood
Level 27 – Blinds 25,000-50,000 (5,000 ante)

It folded to Ismael Bojang in the small blind who raised all in with his short stack, and Luc Greenwood instantly called.

Bojang had J♠ 3♣ while Greenwood had A♣ 10♦ . The J♦ 4♥ Q♣ 5♥ 7♥ board proved favorable to Bojang, giving him a pair of jacks and the double-up.

Luc Greenwood — 1,100,000
Ismael Bojang — 1,040,000

12:21pm: Elias earns from Kuether
Level 27 – Blinds 25,000-50,000 (5,000 ante)

With about 600,000 in the middle and the board showing 4♣ 3♦ 10♦ , Darren Elias checked, Joe Kuether bet 200,000, then Elias announced he was check-raising all in with the 1.3 million or so he hand behind.

Kuether thought about a minute, then let his hand go. The pair are now roughly even chip-wise.

Darren Elias — 2,150,000
Joe Kuether — 2,120,000

12:16 pm: Greenwood shoves, Eveslage lets it go
Level 27 – Blinds 25,000-50,000 (5,000 ante)

After an under-the-gun open to 110,000 from Chad Eveslage, it folded around to Luc Greenwood in the big blind who thought for about a half-minute before announcing he was reraising all in. Eveslage instantly let his hand go.

12:08pm: Shuffle up and deal
Level 27 – Blinds 25,000-50,000 (5,000 ante)

The first hands of the third and final day of the LAPT Bahamas Main Event are being dealt. They are playing at two five-handed tables at the moment. With the next elimination, they’ll combine to form a single nine-handed table.

11:59am: Moments away!

From an 851-entry field just 10 players remain, led by Georgios Sotiropoulos who built a stack of nearly 4 million before play concluded last night. Here’s how the final 10 will be seated and the stacks they’ll be sitting behind when play gets going shortly:

Table 9
