We’re sounding the “COOP” klaxon for all Michigan poker players today. It’s the first time we’ve been able to, so forgive the extra enthusiasm.

That’s because the first ever Michigan Championship of Online Poker — a.k.a. MICOOP — begins tomorrow at PokerStars MI, Michigan’s only online poker site.

The series runs from Saturday, February 20 through Monday, March 8, featuring 60 events with guaranteed prize pools adding up to just over $1 million.

Buy-ins start as little as $10 and go all of the way up to a $500 high roller event. There are a ton of no-limit hold’em freezeouts, re-entries, and progressive knockout events, plus lots of non-NLHE action, too, including Omaha, stud, draw, and mixed game events.

The two-day $300 buy-in Main Event with a $125,000 guarantee comes at the end, starting Sunday, March 7. There’s a $50 Mini Main Event then, too, with a $35,000 guarantee.

There are three events tomorrow on Saturday, including the $100 buy-in “Kickoff” event. Then seven more events fill up a busy Sunday schedule, highlighted by the $200 Sunday Special SE.

There are also plenty of satellites, Second Chance Freerolls, and a Main Event Depositor Freeroll on Mar. 7. Find out more about all of those in the above link as well.

“MICOOOOOOP!”

You’ve heard the call, Michigan poker players. See you at the tables.
