Home / Online Poker / MicroMillions Days 6-8: ‘couldbedrunk’ wins 2nd title, Main Event draws 128,753 entries

MicroMillions 17 is almost done, with just the two-day MicroMillions Main Event, a.k.a. the Sunday Storm 9th Anniversary, left to finish.

It makes sense it would take two days to finish that monster. After all, there were 128,753 entries (!), which created a $1,261.779.40 prize pool for the $11 buy-in event, easily exceeding the $1 million guarantee.

After one day of play, there are just 383 players left, and they’ll return today at 14:00 ET to continue battling for the $100,088.36 first prize.

Beyond the Main Event, it was a very busy MicroMillions weekend, so let’s get right to all the highlights and results.

Day 6: ‘diego7791’ takes away more than $15K

On Friday there were 13 tournaments, all with big fields and a handful ending up with prize pools more than twice their guarantees.

Event No. 68 ($3.30+R NLHE) was the largest, with 12,277 entries and a $120,060.78 prize pool, with “diego7791” of Brazil winning the title and over $15K. Meanwhile Event No. 71 was another big one with 9,164 entries, a $32,648 prize pool (2x-plus the $15K guarantee), and Norway’s “SkjalgMSO” winning better than $4.5K.

Day 7: ‘couldbedrunk’ wins second MicroMillions title this week

Saturday saw 13 tournaments, again with multiple examples of prize pools more than doubling guarantees.

The day’s big one was Event No. 81 ($5.50 NLHE, 8-Max, Progressive Knockout) that drew 29,982 entries who created a huge $146,911.80 prize pool (almost twice the $75K guarantee). “Likinha 09,” one of many Brazilian champs over the weekend, took it down to collect $6,873.94 (including bounties) after a four-way chop.

The United Kingdom’s “couldbedrunk” gets top billing for Saturday, though, after winning a second MicroMillions title of the series. “couldbedrunk” won Event No. 77 ($3.30 PLO8, 8-Max, Prog KO), topping a 4,757-entry field to win $1,356.52 altogether (first-place prize plus bounties).

The number seven must be lucky for “couldbedrunk,” because that win in Event No. 77 (on Day 7) came after he’d won Event No. 7 ($5.50 6+ Hold’em, 6-Max, Turbo) last weekend for $1,323.81. We spoke with him after that win — read about it here.

With 11,896 entries, that tournament ended up with a $60,074.80 prize pool, more than triple the $20K guarantee. After just three hours and 17 minutes, “olle1FIN” had all the chips and a $7,833.79 first prize.
