Have you ever folded a hand pre-flop, and then wished you hadn’t? You fold a hand only to watch your straight, flush or even better, land on the flop. Sounds familiar, doesn’t it?

There’s nothing you can do but sit there, try not to throw things, and watch someone else win the pot.
That’s why UNFOLD, launched on PokerStars today, is the perfect game for anyone who wants to remove this agony from the game.

Introducing Unfold

Unfold means just that: if you folded your cards pre-flop, you can UNFOLD them after it. It’s like poker with the benefit of hindsight. Actually it’s more than that. It’s a lot of fun. And here’s why.

It cuts out all the waiting around for another hand.

There’s no reason to wait for good cards because you can Unfold the bad ones. And with the option to Unfold, you get to stay in the hand for longer. That’s before you open-up a whole new chapter on hold’em strategy.

Here’s how Unfold works

The game starts in the same way as any other game of Texas Hold’em. But before the usual preflop round, every player posts an ante which goes in a side pot called the “Unfold pot.” Then, preflop action goes ahead in the familiar way.

Once the flop is dealt, players who folded preflop can “unfold” by paying the side pot amount. Then they watch the rest of the hand play out. Once the river has been dealt the unfold pot is resolved between the “unfolders”.

Making rabbit hunting mandatory

If the main pot is won before the full board is dealt, the remaining community cards are shown to determine the winner of the Unfold pot. That’s right. In certain hands Unfold makes rabbit hunting mandatory.

Unfold is only available on PokerStars. It’s played in a no-limit cash game format, and a minimum of four players must be dealt in to a hand for the Unfold ante to be collected. Everything else is explained on the Unfold homepage, which shows you how to play, and how to take your seat.

No more agony watching your hand turn good on the flop.

No more waiting around for the game to get interesting.

And no more long spells being card dead.

Because even dead cards can be Unfolded.
