Eugene Katchalov is not only the only remaining Team Pro left in the field. With the elimination of Caros Mortensen, Katchalov remains the only person left in the field still alive for a Triple Crown win.
Early in his live poker career, Katchalov won the WPT Doyle Brunson Classic. Two summers ago, Katchalov won his first WSOP bracelet. Now, if he happens to win this sanctioned EPT event, Katchalov will don the Triple Crown.
Katchalov is currently among the shorter stacks, but that’s never been reason to count him out before.
At the last break, our Sarah Grant had a chat with the Team Pro about how his day is going.
