Home / Uncategorized / PokerStars Festival Hamburg: Good first level for Team Pro

The red spade is represented on two fronts here at PokerStars Festival Hamburg this week, one from Team Online and one from Team Pro. Both made it through to Day 2 today but in trouble as each of them came back with fewer chips than they started with on Day 1.

PokerStars Team Pro Online Felix Schneiders – 22,100 (9bb)
PokerStars Team Pro Marcin Horecki – 26,800 (11bb)

Horecki is on a charge

Having a good first level was important for both players, and we’re happy to report that’s exactly what happened. By the time the tournament ticked over into the second level of the day, the two of them were sat behind six figure stacks.

Polish pro Horecki is seated in an area on the casino bathed in sunlight, which is unusual for this kind of setting, and the sun has shone on him so far today. He was deep in a big pot with Norbert Seefeldt and 55,000 sat in the middle. The board read 3♠ 5♦ 4♦ K♥ 6♠ and Seefeldt (cutoff) checked to see Horecki (dealer) move all-in for 29,000. Seefeldt tanked for a while but ultimately folded.

A few hands later, Horecki opened to 5,200 from middle position and was only called by Rizkallah Kocheiche. The flop fanned 3♠ 5♦ 4♦ and both players checked. Italian Kocheiche led for 6,500 on the K♥ turn and Horecki called. The 6♠ completed the board and both players checked once more. Kocheiche announced he had a king without showing before opening K♦ 9♠ after Horecki gestured for him to do so. It was no good though as Horecki tabled K♣ Q♥ for a better king.

He ended the level with just over 100,000.

A happy Schneiders (pictured here on Day 1C)

Schneiders, on the other hand, made it to the second level of the day with 120,000, nearly 100,000 more than he started the day with. He told the blog that it all started with a fortunate double up. An opponent opened with ace-queen and called after Schneiders three-bet all-in for 18-20 big blinds with ace-jack. The German pro spiked the the three-outer on the turn.

That gave him the breathing room to open up his game and it’s been a steady ascent upwards from there.

That’s one level down for the two players, if they have nine more like that then they’ll be very happy chaps heading into the final day tomorrow. Stay tuned to the PokerStars blog throughout the days for more features and for live updates, PokerNews is your friend.
