Home / Uncategorized / PokerStars Festival Hamburg: There’s a whole lot to tell you about Day 2

Welcome back to the Casino Schenefeld for Day 2 of the PokerStars Festival Hamburg Main Event. For the first time, all the survivors from each of the four starting flights will be together in one room.

We’ve got a lot to tell you, including last night’s action, the prize pool, and how many players are still in. Let’s get to it.

Day 1D

Things got fast last night as a hyper turbo Day 1D kicked off immediately after Day 1C finished. The quick session had twelve 20-minute levels and was only open to players who had already been eliminated, so it truly was a last chance saloon.

Behzad Zarnegar bagged the most

When registration closed there had been 114 entrants, but just 50 were left standing (or rather sitting) when the chip bags came out. Behzad Zarnegar, a regular poker player here in Hamburg, secured the session’s chip lead with a 191,600 stack after busting Soenke Jahn during the final level with six-seven suited over ace-queen.

Other big stacks and notables to make it through include Claudio Celenza (171,000), Vedran Mandic (170,500), Adriatik Agalliu (140,700), Ulrich Pauls (138,400), Twitch streamer Murat Tuelek (136,300), Andrey Andreev (112,900), Mikhail Sokolovskiy (97,600), Martin Mulsow(62,000), Johnny Hansen (51,000) and Mick Graydon (43,600).

Some players weren’t so fortunate. Tom Holke – who we spoke to yesterday – couldn’t survive the flight, and nor could Aleksandar Tomovic, Waldemar Kopyl, €2,200 High Roller champion Andre Haneberg, Nicholas Galtos, Thang Duc Nguyen and Jamila von Perger.

Money money money

Those 114 additional entries brought the total amount of entries up to 567. That means this €1,100 tournament has smashed its €500,000 guarantee, creating a prize pool of €549,990.

Speaking of prizes, they were revealed overnight. The eventual champ will receive a very healthy €105,850, while 79 players will make the money. A min-cash in this one is worth €1,870.

We’re a ways away from it right now, but the bubble will no doubt burst at some point during today’s Day 2 action. So make sure you keep checking back with the PokerStars Blog throughout the day for all the latest.

Here’s a look at what the final table payouts look like:

Place Prize (EUR)
1 €105,850
2 €66,220
3 €47,410
4 €36,960
5 €28,980
6 €22,770
7 €16,990
8 €11,770

You can view the whole prizes and payouts (when that happens) here.

Of the 567 who entered, there are 213 players returning today to grind through ten 60-minute levels, including Team Online’s Felix Schneiders and Team Pro Marcin Horecki. We’ve got the entire start-of-Day 2 chip counts up, but here’s a look at the top 10 chip counts from the combined field:
