Today’s the day that the week long PokerStars Festival Marbella draws to a close and it’s going out with a bang. Over the last six days only five players have had the honour of winning a spadie. Today we’ll double that number.

Five spadies will be won today

Whilst the Main Event and its first prize of €168,700 rightly takes centre stage there’s plenty more happening today. There are three fresh events starting, which will play from start to finish and then there’s also the Marbella Cup.

We’ve seen some big fields this week, 949 in the Main Event, 761 in the MegaStack and the Marbella Cup was another rip roaring success. The suits had slapped a €100,000 guarantee on the €330 buy-in event but they need not have worried about an overlay. Over three starting flights 788 players sat down and they created a prize pool of €226,944. The top 118 players will make the money with the winner collecting €42,850. The remaining players don’t have too much work to do to lock up a min-cash of €570 as just 158 players remain, of whom 118 make the money. Below is a look at the final table payouts in this event.

POS NAME COUNTRY PRIZE DEAL
1     € 42,850
2     € 26,100
3     € 18,509
4     € 14,000
5     € 11,100
6     € 8,370
7     € 6,000
8     € 4,100

For anyone who makes the money in the Marbella Cup but then busts out there are three events in which they might choose to invest some of their hard earned cash.

Starting at 2pm there’s the €170 NL Holdem – Estrellas Turbo Deep Stack Special. With 30,000 chips to start with (150 big blinds) antes from the start and 15 minute levels. This is certainly an event for those who like to ‘get busy’.

If you think four card poker is double the fun of two card poker then the 4pm €170 pot-limit Omaha event will be of interest. And it wouldn’t be a PokerStars Festival without a Hyper-Turbo tournament to round things off. This one starts at 6pm and carries a €500 price tag. For many it will be a last chance to make this festival a profitable one.

It’s going to be a busy day in Marbella that’s for sure, especially for the photogrpaher who takes the winners’ shots!
