Stadium Series is into its stride with six tournaments now wrapped, nearly 100,000 entries already and $2.67 million in prize money distributed. Here’s the latest from the newest tournament series.
STADIUM SERIES NEWS BULLETIN
Austrians dominate Heat 1-H: Austria’s “Klem90” won the biggest prize of Stadium Series so far when he or she outlasted a 1,597-entry field to pick up $121,808.38 by winning Heat 1-H. Remarkably, all three podium places went to players based in Austria, with Thomas “WushuTM” Muehloecker pushed into second place ($87,252) and former SCOOP champion “Mastermandel” in third. There were also two Brits at the final table, with Niall “Firaldo87” Farrell and James “OP-Poker James” Mackenzie (in from a $50 satellite) finishing in sixth and seventh, respectively. Of the top 10 finishers, only Farrell fired more than one bullet in the event.
Russia at the double: The low and medium buy-in versions of Heat 1 went to players from Russia, with “kovalalexroman” taking $12,570.01 (after a heads up deal) in the $5.50 buy-in event and “NEWFlat” winning $71,470.67 in the $55 tournament. Both events comfortably beat their guarantees, with 28,261 entries to the low buy-in building a prize pool of $138,478.90 and 10,914 entries of $55 putting $545,700 on the line in the medium.
Hand looks to better PS colleagues: PokerStars’ streaming ambassadors have got off to a brilliant start in the Stadium Series, with Arlie “Prince Pablo” Shaban making the final in Heat 2-M, finishing seventh for $6,433.77, and James “OP-Poker James” Mackenzie winning $16,456.04 last night. At the same time, recently-crowned SCOOP champion Fintan “easywithaces” Hand was setting himself up for another brilliant result. Hand sits in fourth spot of the 48 remaining overnight in Heat 3-H, the $530 PKO event. Hand has already won $1,078 in bounties and has 3.2 million chips, more than double the tournament average. There were 712 entries building a prize pool of $356,000, with $26,175 up top — plus bounties. Follow Hand as he streams the conclusion on Twitch tonight: www.twitch.tv/easywithaces

HOW DOES FINTAN DO IT?
Sometimes poker is all about marginal decisions, grinding it through the fallow times, building a stack patiently. Other times it’s about getting aces in a three-way all-in
