We made it to the weekend again, somehow. And while you’re turning your back on a long weekend looking ahead to some downtime (or maybe uptime); here are a few things on PokerStars to keep you busy.

Dates for the new PokerStars Championships and Festivals announced

With just one EPT event left to play (EPT Prague coming up next month), we’re gearing up for the start of the first PokerStars Championship in the Bahamas next month. Details of which are right here. What follows that was announced this week.

Plans for the first half of 2017 are now available in detail, with Championship and Festivals taking in stops in London, Panama, Macau, Rozvadov, and Monte Carlo, before Barcelona returns later in August.

You can check out the entire entire schedule and the highlights set for each event, here.

Dwayne Wade and Cristiano Ronaldo continue to #RaiseIt

We know what it’s like. There are days when getting out of bed each morning feels like a major personal achievement in itself. Sometimes just finding clean socks and your house keys can feel like a miracle. We salute that.

Then there are those people, super star people, who breeze through the early part of the day with so much style and panache that videos are made about then, good ones too, like this one featuring Cristiano Ronaldo’s response to Dwayne Wade’s #RaiseIt.
Take a look to see what we mean.

Don’t feel bad about only managing to find socks. We know you were trying your best.

Back to Brazil

Last week we were twiddling our thumbs without any live updates to fill the weekend. Now we’re putting that right.

This weekend features the return of the BSOP in Sao Paulo. If you speak Spanish, or are fond of Google translate, then you can find all the details on the BSOP homepage. Our live updates however will be available in English, beginning today with the Main Event.

The reason we stage charity events

Earlier this year some of our colleagues travelled to Ghana with Right To Play, an organisation that everyone at PokerStars is very proud to be associated with. Each of them came back with unforgettable experiences, one of which is detailed this week no the Blog by Brad Willis.

Typical of our man Willis, his latest piece is not only a great read, it’ll manage to upset and inspire you at the same time. We encourage you to read it. If nothing else it explains why we run charity events.

Catch up on what you missed

There’s plenty more to catch up from the past week. For instance

DrAnubis won the Sunday Million in the early hours of Monday morning, a win worth $130,000.

Two days later PoluKalos took down the Super Tuesday for a first prize of $64,000.

It’s still a couple of months ago but TCOOP will be on us sooner than you think (and over quickly for that matter). We have tentative details though.
