One of the UK’s most popular content creators is about to bring poker to a whole new audience.

Watch The Showdown live on Twitch this Saturday

On the hugely successful True Geordie Podcast and YouTube channel, Brian Davis–a.k.a. True Geordie–invites everyone from famous musicians to former gangsters and even poker players into his London studio for deep conversations and hilarious banter.

Now he’s transformed that studio (with help from PokerStars) by adding a custom-built poker table that will become the centrepiece of ‘The Showdown’, True Geordie’s brand new live poker series.

The Showdown kicks off this Saturday, August 14, at 7pm BST and will be streamed on the True Geordie Twitch channel. The show will feature Davis, his co-host Laurence McKenna, plus their friends and occasional special celebrity guests.

Think of it as a poker show mixed with a podcast where the crew will discuss all the topics that have made them famous–football, MMA, mental health–whilst playing cards-up, dealer-dealt poker on a brand new RFID poker table.

There will also be Home Games so viewers can join in the poker action after every episode of The Showdown. There are more than 3,000 members of the True Geordie Home Game club already!

“We’re very grateful to Pokerstars for supporting our vision to make poker content for a new generation while going to a new level technically in online creator content,” Davis says. “The entire team has worked tirelessly to make this a reality and we can’t wait to grow The Showdown with Pokerstars.”

This isn’t True Geordie’s first foray into poker. After having successful high stakes poker pro Charlie Carrel as a guest on the podcast several times, Davis plunged himself into poker study and has had some incredible results, including deep runs in big online high rollers which he streamed live on Twitch to thousands of viewers.

Here’s a look at the schedule for upcoming episodes (there will be at least 10 in total):

  • 14th August – 7pm BST
  • 29th August – Time and guest TBC
