TONKAAAA ALMOST TRIUMPHANT

Parker “Tonkaaaa” Talbot has been crushing high stakes tournaments for years, so it was no surprise to the PokerStars Team Pro reach the final table of the Sunday $1K High Roller this past weekend, an event which only attracts the game’s best and brightest.

Tonkaaaa had the hands when he needed them (and when he felt his opponents were “up to no good”).

He probably deserved the victory after this gutsy bluff three-handed.

“Eset93” eliminated Sam “Str8$$$Homey” Greenwood in third.

But when they got heads-up, a poker myth was well and truly busted.

Alas, it doesn’t always come seven.

Still, Tonkaaaa secured $29,427 for his performance in one of the week’s toughest tournaments. Not too shabby.

EASY AS PYE

There’s (almost) no stopping Mason “Pye_face21” Pye–a.k.a. Pyefacepoker–right now.

The PokerStars Team Pro’s hot streak began in April when he took down his maiden Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) title in a $109 stud event for $6,729.

He followed that up with a prodigious week in the SCOOP Afterparty series, racking up back-to-back big scores with a third in an $11 PLO 6-Max PKO ($2,219.67 inc. bounties) and a fourth in a $109 Stud 8-Max ($2,975).

Now it’s the Bounty Builder Turbo Series (currently running on PokerStars) and you better believe Pye is making noise once again.

Running deep in a $55 8-Game event, he began to pick up some momentum.

The cards were falling his way, that’s for sure. With nine left, he felt he was running so good it would be near impossible for anyone to stop him.

He picked up yet another bounty to take them down to six players.

“A flush? That’ll do.” And with that, they were down to three.

At this point, Pye admitted it might be illegal how good he was running.

But no charges were brought against him. In fact, when he got heads-up against Russia’s “WithoutCards”, it was his opponent who began to run hot.

It all came to an end in this final hand. A slice of humble pie.

With that, Pye banked $3,048.57 ($2,066 for 2nd + $982 in bounties) and narrowly missed out on adding a Bounty Builder Turbo Series title to his trophy cabinet.

The Mixed Games Movement keeps on truckin’.

CLIPS OF THE WEEK

All the quadruple ladies.

Was it ever in doubt?

Is it true? Can deuces never lose?

6666 – the number of the tonkaaaa.

Nice win for Naigo1.

He’s lost his mind.

Always nice to win the whole thing with ace-high.

Finally!

Let’s goooo.

Diamonds in the rough.

So much drama.

Another day another dub.

“Don’t sit down ‘cause I’ve moved your chair.”

It’s a bad turn card. Nope, it’s a great turn card.
