WCOOP 2017: Steven “SvZff” van Zadelhoff’s win brings Championship to a close

The fat lady has sung, the clocks have stopped, the flag has dropped and Steven “SvZff” van Zadelhoff has won the WCOOP Main Event.

Steven “SvZff” van Zadelhoff wins the WCOOP 2017 the Main Event

The Championship ended last night when Dutch player Steven “SvZff” van Zadelhoff (playing out of Malta) won the WCOOP Main Event which, after a deal free final table which he had begun as chip leader, was worth more than $1.62 million. Martin Harris watched it through to the finish and posted this report.

There was a total of 2,183 entries to the Main Event (1,804 uniques plus 379 re-entries), making for a $10,915,000 prize pool. That paid the top 278 places.

Van Zedelhoff started the final table with roughly a third of the chips in play and never really looked like giving up his advantage. Joshuah333 of Canada got closest, finishing second for $1,173,712.

ImluckNuts tops the WCOOP leader board with the conclusion of all 81 events with a total score of 830 points. That’s 25 ahead of second placed MITS 304. Bedias and Fresh_oO_D complete the podium positions, sharing third place.
