Mohsin Charania wins EPT Season 8 finale

Season 8 of the world’s richest poker tour has drawn to a close at the PokerStars and Monte-Carlo®Casino EPT Grand Final. Over the course of nine days, the planet’s best poker players battled for huge sums of money in the exclusive surroundings of the Monte Carlo Bay Hotel. The €10,300 Main Event was won by American player Mohsin Charania, who collected the trophy and €1,350,000 in first place prize money. In total, 665 players competed in the Main Event, creating a massive prize pool of €6,650,000, with the top 97 places paid.

The Tournament of Champions closed out the celebrations, as all previous EPT Main Event champions played for a Season 9 passport. The winner was EPT6 Warsaw champ Christophe Benzimra from France, winning entry to all events next season. For full coverage, check out the PokerStars Blog and

$100,000 Super High Roller

The Super High Roller event was one of the richest live poker tournaments ever staged in Europe, and it attracted the cream of the world’s poker talent. A stacked final table included Team PokerStars Pros Daniel Negreanu and Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grospellier, plus Tobias Reinkemeier, who won the High Roller event at the EPT Grand Final last year. The eventual winner was US pro Justin Bonomo, who scooped an eye-watering €1,640,000 for the win.

$25,500 High Roller

The 8-Max High Roller tournament featured a top quality field with Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu making a deep run all the way to second place and €598,600 in prize money. The winner was Russia’sIgor Kurganov who closed out a million-euro payday, taking home €1,080,000.
